Description
A Verona and Lake Garda day trip from Venice packs two very different places into one long day. The coach leaves from Mestre train station in the morning and crosses the Veneto countryside to Verona, where a tour leader walks you through the historic centre.
The guided walk reaches Juliet's Balcony, the Verona Arena and the piazzas that give the city its character. Afterwards you get free time to shop, relax or explore on your own. Then the coach heads to the southern shore of Lake Garda for the second half of the day.
- A private boat cruise of about 30 minutes around the Sirmione peninsula
- Views of Scaligero Castle and the Roman ruins of the Grotte di Catullo
- A short guided introduction to Sirmione's old centre
- Free time for the cobbled lanes, artisan shops and a gelato by the water
Back in the coach, you return to Mestre at the end of the day. The trip lasts around ten hours, with a multilingual guide, coach transport and the cruise included. Food, drinks and getting to the meeting point are not, so Verona's free time is the moment for lunch. It runs in all weather.
