Description
On this Murano Burano Torcello boat tour you sail out of the St. Mark's area aboard a panoramic vessel while a multilingual host talks you through the lagoon. About 30 minutes later the boat reaches Murano, where a glass master shapes molten glass in front of you while the history of the craft is explained.
Some free time follows on the island, and the glass factory's shop is there if you want a souvenir. Then the boat heads for Burano. The little houses painted in bright colours line the canals, and lace makers can be watched at work, a skill counted among the finest in the world. Burano is also the place for a bite to eat and a taste of the island's biscotti.
The last landing is Torcello, with about an hour to wander. The landmarks to look for:
- Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta (entry ticket not included)
- Attila's Throne
- Devil's Bridge
- The Bell Tower
An hour of sailing brings you back to Venice. Keep in mind that this is a boat excursion with a host speaking over a speaker on board, not a guided visit of each island, and the order of the islands can change. Dogs are welcome on a leash and with a muzzle. Plan on about six hours in all, so it suits a full day.
