Description

This Murano and Burano boat trip starts at San Marco, calls at a glassblowing furnace, then leaves you 150 free minutes on Burano to wander its colourful lanes.

A Murano and Burano boat trip is an easy way to see the lagoon without planning a thing. The panoramic boat leaves from San Marco and crosses open water to Murano, where the first stop is a historic furnace. A master glassblower shapes molten glass into delicate forms, and afterwards you can look around the furnace's showroom.

Next comes Burano, the island of brightly painted houses. Here you have 150 minutes with no fixed agenda, which is long enough to walk its narrow lanes, look into lace shops and artisan workshops, or sit by a canal. Try the bussolai biscuits, have a gelato, or stop for lunch at a traditional trattoria. Lunch is not included, nor are water or tips.

  • Panoramic boat trip from San Marco
  • Live glassblowing demonstration at a historic furnace on Murano
  • Free time on Burano
  • Explanations on the boat and in the demonstration, in four languages

Be aware that this is not a guided visit of the islands. Staff share information over the boat's loudspeaker as you go, and the order in which the islands are visited can change. A short walk separates the meeting point from the boarding area. Leashed dogs with a muzzle are welcome, and the whole outing takes about six hours. It is not suitable for wheelchair users.
