Description
This Murano and Burano guided tour begins in the San Marco area, where you board a boat bound for two islands of the lagoon. With a local guide at your side, you reach Murano first and watch a live glassblowing demonstration at a renowned glass factory, then follow the guide on foot through the island's streets and past its artisan shops.
Burano is the second stop, a place of rows of multi-coloured houses that make easy photographs. The guide tells you about its history and culture and takes you to a traditional lace-making demonstration, the other craft that put the island on the map.
Several options exist, so read the title of the one you book: not every option contains every service.
- The guided version, with a walking tour of Murano and a guided visit of Burano
- A semi-private tour by typical Venetian boat
- A free-time option, with time to explore Torcello and Burano, and a local captain on board
- A Murano and Burano lagoon cruise without a guide
- An upgrade with Venetian specialities plus a glass of Prosecco or local wine
Depending on the option, the outing lasts roughly four and a half to five and a half hours. Food and drinks are otherwise not included.
