Description

Inaugurated in 1678, on the initiative of the Grimani family, and then known as the Theatre San Giovanni Crisostomo, it immediately enjoyed great prestige thanks to the success of the opera, a genre introduced about that time.
The Theatre’s interior decor and architectural features have been returned to how they were in the early 20th century when designed by the engineer Mario Felice Donghi.
The drop-curtain painted in tempera on canvas with gold and silver threads is really beautiful.
