Beautiful city, with plentiful options for things to do, and places to eat. Doge's Palace worth a visit. The colourful houses of Burano are worth going to see. Went on a day trip to the Dolomites, which are spectacular.

Venice is a beautiful city the people, food and the weather were amazing. If you’re going to go to Venice a gondola ride is a must you learn so much about the city and culture and make sure you take your walking shoes as there are sooo many bridges to cross my feet where killing me but worth it. Take the cruises to the other islands are a must. I can’t wait to go back.

I highly recommend purchasing comprehensive museum tickets on the Venice Unica website no less than a month before your trip - it results in significant savings. Especially for families with children. Also, regarding transportation - it's better to buy a comprehensive ticket for the entire duration of your stay. Venice is not a cheap city. But cruising around on the vaporetto with no limits? Absolutely awesome.

Bureaucracy made everything difficult.
Bureaucracy made everything difficult. Restaurants in the center are mediocre, even my old favorites. We had better luck in the more distant areas and in Burano. Internet and ferry organization were quite poor.

this was our 4th trip to Venice and are now seniors 65+ so the walking the old streets and the many bridges as well as getting on and off the Vaporetto's (water taxies) can be challenging. Be prepared to pay a fee to enter the city if just visiting for the day. If staying at a hotel you will pay the tax there. City tax 22% you will also pay a fee if you want to sit at a table in a restaurant 10%.
Example single Pizza for one split three ways 1 draft beer, 1 sparkling water and 1 ginger ale.
$45.00 Euro + tip!

Venice is a beautiful place.
Venice is a beautiful place. Sadly it has become very very busy. Seeing that I have been to Venice a few times before I managed to avoid the very busy spots and experience Venice's back streets and less known destinations.
Of course the biggest fun is to just "get lost" in the back streets. You never really get lost because there are always arrows showing the way to major sights.
Best is always to stay in Venice. I loved wandering the streets early in the morning when only me and the street cleaners are out. Took some wonderful photos that way
We loved the hotel - situated extremely close to the centre St Marks square , had a nice atmosphere with stylish furnishings. Our room was elegant and comfortable (though the water was not hot enough to take a shower in the morning or evening- this is the only reason why I rated the place very good instead of exceptional). The breakfast was exceptional - coffee, a wide choice of baked goods, delightful pastries, savoury food etc. We travelled a lot in Italy and I would rate the breakfast as one of the best we have experienced in Italy so far.
Soo cozy accommodation, very polite personal, Sarah was keeping in touch with us during all our stay in Venice. The location is perfect, tou could feel that you are part of domestic Italian life, non tourists area will put you more into Italy. There is small supermarket near by ,cheap and great selection.
The apartment has smart lock that why it make your arriving time so flexible...
The bed was soo good I was sleeping as a baby after long walks in the city.
Yhank you soo much ! Will come for sure next time only to your accommodation.
This was one of our best accommodations on our Italy trip. The location was perfect, right in the heart of Venice tourism locales. Walking distance in minutes to the Rialto as well as St Marks sq. Most cafes and restaurants of repute within walking distance. The hosts communicated well. The apartment can best be described as elegant. There were cookies on the hall table and bedside tables which was a nice touch. Air-conditioning was vital in the humid Italian heat. Perfect for a family.
The hotel was in a good location near St. Mark's Square but not in the middle of it, so there was not a lot of outside noise from the tourists. It had air conditioning which was fantastic, as places in Italy, sometimes do not. There was a nice variety of food and drinks for breakfast. The staff was friendly and very helpful when it came to finding our way around and which ferry/boat to take to get to different places. All in all, a good stay at Domus Ciliota.
This was the most polished and professional location we rented in the 6 cities in Italy that we visited. It's a beautiful and spacious apartment like suite with very modern amenities. The keycard for entering was super easy and made the final stretch of our visit simple and pleasant. The host was available to help and provide guidance on visiting Venice during our visit and was super friendly. We would absolutely stay here the next time we visit Venice!
Our room was enormous! We were in the annex of the hotel because we booked the room only a few days in advance. The breakfast was the best one we had in Italy, The view from the balcony located in the dining room was beyond breathtaking. My husband and I had a glass of wine on the balcony overlooking the Grand Canal. It was so emotionally moving, I began weeping at the majestic beauty of the canal. My husband in reaction, booked us another week in Venice.
Very friendly couple host. Nice and clean room, great shower. Best breakfast selection we had in Italy with meats and cheese, cereal, biscuits and fruit to hand. Gave us tips about travelling in Venice which was nice. Perfect location 1 min walk to tram stop and shops and restaurants close by. Tram takes you centre of Venice within 20 mins or so. Hosts let us keep our bags there after check out which was nice as we had a late evening flight.
The central location was very convenient. Every staff member we met was polite efficient and genuinely interested in making our stay better. Special thanks to Marco on the desk at night for the engaging conversation and insights into life in Venice and Italy in general. Breakfast was lovely too, great coffee to set you up for your day. The decor was olde world style which added to the ambiance. We would recommend this hotel. Mick & Una
The perfect place, I mean location, but see below "What didn't you like". It is just around ten minutes of walk to square of Saint Mark.
A lot of cafeterias and restaurants around. "Coop" convenient store is nearby, around five minutes of walk, where you can buy almost everything you need.
The warmest hotel I visited during my trip to Italy. Really the temperature in room was quite comfortable for January.
Great stuff, Great room Cleanliness and the best is Great View on Grand Canal. Hotel have direct access from Canal you can get from airport or train station with boat taxi straight to Hotel from Canal.
You can book in Hotel Gondola Ride straight from Hotel with Glass of Prosecco.
Definitely when we back to Venice we will back to this Hotel was a pleasure to stain in this Hotel
We had a wonderful 2 day stay in Venice and Palazzo Veneziano was the perfect end to our 2 weeks in Italy. Walking distance from the train station. Friendly staff welcomed us and provided recommendations. Room had a comfortable bed and black out curtains which allowed for a wonderful sleep. Very close to a grocery store. Exceptional breakfast, which included Prosecco.
This was our favourite place in all of Italy!! We adored our stay in Venice mostly because of our stay here at Allá Corte Rossa. The room was perfect, the view was perfect, staff were lovely and the breakfast was amazing. We could have sat and enjoyed the view all day long and we near enough did! With a gorgeous Italian bottle of wine!
Great location on the canal. The owner, Jennifer, was lovely. She was very informative and recommended a restaurant that we would have just bypassed. It turned out that it was the best meal we ended up having in our whole stay in Italy.
Our flight home wasn’t until late but the hotel allowed us to store our bags at the property.
The room was amazing. Very modern, excellent bed, bathroom and nice shower. Super quite at night but very close to good restaurants and just some steps from Vaporetto station. Breakfast is the best I already had in Italy. Janina and Joni were perfect in all details and information. It is a pearl in Venice. I strong recommend.
Amazing hotel and our room had a beautiful view of the canal. We only stayed one night but the hotel manager Alvise was a gracious host that led us to some of the best meals we’ve had in Italy. The room was clean and classy with every amenity we needed. Highly recommended do not hesitate to book this romantic spot.
This was my favourite stay in Italy. The hotel is located close to the water bus stop, the staff were very accommodating and friendly, a variety of items were provided for breakfast daily and everything was delicious, my room was cozy, very clean and well lit. I would stay here again.
everything! great location, great, helpful and friendly staff,
